The Value of One by Fred Hensley

I thought I would share something my husband wrote last August.

Fred HensleyOne – unique, solitary, single, special, alone, no other one like you, you are special, you have fingerprints and DNA like no other one in the world. God says that we are special. A little sparrow that falls is so insignificant that no one in the world will ever notice that the sparrow fell, but God took notice that it did. And Jesus says how much more valuable to God are we than that little sparrow. The religious leaders looked down on the widow woman for giving her two mites, equal to less than a penny in today’s world. Jesus notice that she gave all that she had and said that she had given more than all the others who had given much in the offering. Jesus said whosoever will let him come and drink of the water of life freely. God is no respecter of persons. One life is just as value to God as any other life. Whosoever means anyone from anywhere who was born in this world under any circumstance whatsoever. Definition of one is the lowest cardinal number, refers to a person or thing mentioned or easily identified, a person of a specific kind. Recently, I listened to a three-part series on Family Talk, hosted by Dr. James Dobson, about four women who were born that were conceived in rape and one who is a mother of rape. My wife was also conceived by rape. We have been married for 12 years and only learned this fact back in 2008. Knowing this now only makes me love my wife more than ever before. Why should my wife be punished for being born when it wasn’t her fault for the atrocious act of rape that brought about her conception? What is the value of one when it comes to the time to vote? Some may say “my vote doesn’t matter as one vote will not make a difference”. We have learned in paste elections where every vote does count.

Does one person matter and does it make a difference whether or not that one person is born or not?

Esther was one person and yet she orchestrated and was used of God to save her people from destruction.

It’s a Wonderful Life – George Bailey mattered and the movie depicts that one life does matter. Without George Bailey, Harry Bailey would have drowned as an eight-year old boy. Without George Bailey, a whole transport of men would have died.   Without George Bailey, so many of the citizens in the town would have lived in a potter’s field. Without George Bailey, Mr. Gower would have poisoned a young boy and consequently would have died. As a result, Mr. Gower would have been placed in jail. “Each life touches so many others lives”. “When he isn’t around, he leaves an awful hole, doesn’t he.” The story of George Bailey shows that one man can make a difference. George Bailey was given a great gift, the chance to see what life would be like without him. George wished he had never been born and he got his wish. In the end, George wept and begged that he could have his life back no matter consequential troubles he had to face.

Individuals born in this world no matter the circumstances surrounding the conception are conceived and born for a reason. If God didn’t want the conception to take place, He could have stopped it from happening, but He didn’t. We were formed in our mother’s womb, so no matter how cruel the rape crime is, God allowed the conception to take place and still formed that baby in the mother’s womb. When the baby was born, God still says “I have plans for that little one” even though that one is condemned and made to feel worthless by people in the world. They can say that this one person is worthless, but God says we all have value no matter who we are and where we come from. Jesus says that everyone is valuable so much that He died for the whole world. It doesn’t say that God so loved the world except for those born out of rape. He loved the world, the whole world and nothing but the world. Since God knows the end from the beginning, He already knew those who would have been born out of rape. So the event doesn’t surprise God. But just because one is born out of rape doesn’t mean that this person has no value. The people in the world that are called worthless and made to feel they have no value are the ones Jesus usually calls and uses for His glory and honor.

Four cases of abortion

Ray, Steve. Should This Baby Be Aborted? You Decide. Retrieved from http://www.catholic-convert.com/wp-content/uploads/ Documents/ AbortionDecide.pdf

Case #1. There’s a traveling preacher and his wife who are living in poverty. They already have fourteen children. Now she finds out she’s pregnant with the 15th child. They are very poor and probably will be unable to afford a doctor’s attention. Considering their poverty, the excessive world population, and the number of children they already have, would you recommend she get an abortion? If yes, you would have aborted the world-famous Methodist preacher John Wesley.

Case #2. The grandmother is an alcoholic and the father spends his evenings out drinking in the taverns. His mother has tuberculosis. She has already given birth to four children. The first child is blind, the second child died, the third child is deaf, and the fourth child has tuberculosis. Now the mother is pregnant again. Given the extreme situation, would you recommend an abortion? If so, you would have aborted the great composer Ludwig van Beethoven.

Case #3. A white man raped a 13-year-old black girl and now she is pregnant. Her family lives in extreme poverty; in fact, to survive, they often have to steal food. If you were her parents, would you recommend or require her to have an abortion? If so, you would have just aborted Ethel Waters, the marvelous black Gospel singer

Case #4. A 15-year old girl is pregnant. She is not married and lives in a cave in an outback area with very little money or resources. The man she hopes to marry is not the father of the baby. There is no hospital or doctor available. Would you recommend that she get an abortion? If so, you would have just aborted Jesus Christ, the savior of the world.

Jesus values the one sheep, as He would leave the 99 to go and save the one lost sheep.

The angels of God rejoice when one sinner repents.

Jesus condemned the man with one talent because he failed to use the one talent that God had given to him. So if we cut off a life that was conceived in rape, we have taken away the talent, gifts and opportunities that would have been given to that person that could have made a great impact in the world.

20 Week Pain Capable Bill by Sherry Hensley

This morning I woke up with a very heavy heart. A few days ago, I read an article on Lifenews.com about the 20-week pain capable bill, which would make it illegal for abortions after 20 weeks because the baby feels pain.  What bothers me greatly is that this bill has the rape, incest and special needs exceptions in it. Congresswoman Renee Ellmers suggests that a woman should only let her doctor know about the rape and no one else.

When I read this, it did not set well with me. I immediately thought about Norma McCorvey, who lied and said that she was raped so that she could have an abortion. I thought if the rape does not have to be reported, this could happen again and could cause more abortions instead of less.

I was conceived in rape, and I had a biological great-aunt who wanted me to be aborted. I thank God that my birthmother said no and did what was Biblical and chose life.

Coming from someone who was conceived in rape, I pray you will take a minute to hear what I have to say. If you were not conceived in rape and had a family member that wanted you aborted, would you put yourself in my shoes for a minute? Should I have to pay for the crime that my birth father did? I don’t think so, as I was the innocent one. My birthfather should be the one who had to pay since he is the one who committed the crime.  Society likes to call people conceived in rape, “the rapist child, monster’s child, a product of rape and an evil seed.”  They are wrong, and since I have been sharing my story, I have got in contact with others who were conceived in rape. They are precious people with a caring heart and are making a difference. They were created in the image of God. I have also read the stories of women who were raped and having their baby brought them healing.

Even though my birth mother placed me for adoption, she told me I have always loved you and that I was the beginning of her healing process.

The devil is the one who wants to steal, kill and destroy. Jesus said I have come to give you life and life more abundantly.

Babies conceived in Rape are created in the image of God.

My heart grieves when I read these stories about babies being aborted every day or reading about babies being found in the dumpster. Very disturbing and heartbreaking.  I have been reading about the 20 week pain capable bill that they want to pass here in the United States. You can say that is a good thing and a step in the right direction to stop abortions after 20 weeks. Let me tell you they are trying to reintroduce this with the No Rape reporting which can mean that a woman can say she was raped and have an abortion up to the day of birth. Heart wrenching!! And to me that is making the situation worse instead of better.

It is heart breaking that the child that is conceived in rape has to continue paying for the crimes of the rapist. Babies conceived in rape are innocent they have done absolutely nothing wrong. You can’t tell the difference of a child conceived in rape and the child conceived out of love.

Conceived in Rape 2a

The woman who was raped needs love and support and she needs to be believed. She does not need people telling her to have an abortion. Having an abortion will only add to the trauma.

There are so many women that have made the decision to have their baby and having the baby did not remind them about the rapist but that child brought them healing and love and saved the life of the mother.

My birth mother who was raped has said, Yes Rape is horrific and traumatic, but what is more horrific and traumatic is the killing of the precious little life growing in the womb.

Babies conceived in rape are created in the image of God and God has plans for them.

Jesus Christ said in Mark 10:14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

Lets continue to fight and pray and God will get the increase.

The Refuge

Psalms 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Saturday Night I was thinking and I asked my husband what he thinks about when he thinks about a refuge. He said safety, protection. It took me almost 7 years to realize how awesome the word Refuge is in my life. A lot of you know that I was conceived in rape and my birth mother kept me safe and protected me from an illegal abortion.

When my parents, my husband and I met my birth mother we went to eat at a restaurant called The Refuge. It really is Amazing. She kept me safe and it was 35 years after I was born that I met her and we ate at the Refuge. It really made that reunion all the more special and meaningful.

The impact of one person

Image2aAs most of you know I was conceived in rape and saved from an illegal abortion and then placed for adoption.  I am finally getting back into the swing of things since getting back from my father-in-laws funeral in West Virginia. When we got home my husband was very sick so I took care of him. I thank God that he is doing so much better.

Sunday Night I decided to share my story with www.lifenews.com. I had no idea that they planned to share it or even post it. Yesterday I received an email from them and they posted it on their website and a few hours later it was on their Facebook page.

This is what I posted on Facebook with the current numbers.

As I woke up this morning I am overwhelmed with what God has done through the night. When I shared my story with lifenews.com I had no idea that they where going to post it or even share it. Well they posted the story first on their website and a few hours later it hit their Facebook page. This morning I was curious to see how many people it has reached and the number of people blows me away. Facebook is saying that 535 people liked it and 31 people shared it. That is mind-blowing. On lifenews.com website 671 people shared it on their Facebook pages 97 people shared it on twitter and 14 people shared it on Google+. Talk about the ripple effect this can have.

Lets think about this. If 671 people have 200 friends on their Facebook pages it went to 134,200 people. If 97 people on twitter have a 100 people it went to 9,700 and if 14 people have 50 people in their Google+ circles it went to 700 people. Through this it could have reached 144,600 by now.

It really is amazing as to what God is doing. I give him all the glory and honor. I just share it and tell it. God gets the increase.

Forgiven

John 8:10-12 (KJV)

When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?

11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

I know that we have all done things that after we did it felt guilty and the last thing that we needed was people condemning us and coming down on us. What we needed was gentleness, kindness and love.

I know personally of two women that at a point in my life came and told me that they had an abortion. It broke my heart to hear this. I listened to them. I never once condemned them and told them that they where a murderer. There are too many people in society that do that to women. That is the worst thing that can be done. I showed them the love of Jesus Christ

Women that have abortions are dealing with regret, feelings of being worthless, and emotional pain. As Christians, we need to show them the love of Jesus Christ, that they are worthy and that Jesus is a mender of broken hearts, broken lives and secret wounds.

I remember listening to a song by Point of Grace titled, “Heal the wounds, but leave the scars.” I have my own set of scars that remind me of a painful past, but Jesus Christ has forgiven me and through him I have been made worthy. He has redeemed me and set me free.

Illegal to tamper with the evidence

The definition of tamper according to Merriam-Webster dictionary is to interfere so as to weaken or change for the worse; to try foolish or dangerous experiments; to render something harmful or hazardous by altering its structure or composition.

In November 2013, my husband and I came home from the church. Our door has three locks on it: the regular lock, the deadbolt, and a chain lock. We unlocked the door, but could not get in because the chain was closed. You cannot lock a chain lock from the outside but only from the inside. We called our maintenance department, and they came out and checked the back of the apartment. They told us that they had to call the police. We were not allowed to go inside our home until the police came. When the police came, they checked out the premises and then let us in. We were told not to touch anything until after forensics came to dust and checked for fingerprints.

I am 100% Pro-life with no exceptions and my fight for the life of the unborn became hotter after I found out that I was conceived in rape. After finding out that I had a biological great aunt that wanted me to be aborted. My biological great aunt could have arranged my birthmother to have an illegal abortion with a doctor in Michigan since it was before Roe v. Wade.

Let’s think about this. It is illegal to tamper with evidence at the scene of a crime in America. Rape is a brutal, hostile, traumatic and violent crime. When a woman becomes pregnant because of rape/incest that baby is innocent, it is created in God’s image, and the baby is also evidence that something horrific happened. That baby, by law, should, therefore, be protected.

In Proverbs Chapter 6:16 and 17 (KJV), the Bible says, “These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: a proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood.”

It is sad that we live in a world where abortion is legal. Shedding the innocent life of the unborn is an abomination to God and abortion is killing the life of the unborn. I have had people argue with me and tell me that abortion is not murder. It is terminating the fetus. Fetus in Latin means Little One. Once again, abortion is killing the life of the unborn. If a baby who is conceived in rape or incest is aborted, that is illegal because abortionists are changing the situation for worse and are altering the evidence. However, because of the way laws are written, it’s a sneaky way for babies that are conceived because of violence to be aborted, all in the name of convenience.

I have heard stories of women that were raped and then had abortions. They regret having had the abortion, think about that baby every day and miss that baby. We need to show women who have had abortions the love of Jesus. Jesus Christ forgives and heals.

If a woman is raped and is pregnant because of the rape tells you, believe her and love her with the love of Jesus Christ and do what you can to help her. These women need love and compassion and help.

The gift of life.

What comes to your mind when you think about life? We most likely think about our families, friends, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, brothers, sisters and so on.  Now have you ever thought about what life would be like without you here.  For me just thinking about what life would be like without me makes me cringe. Just the thought of knowing that I had a biological great-aunt that wanted me dead makes me sick. Yes that is a sickening thought and what the devil wanted to destroy God turned around for good. You see my birth mother saw me as a gift, a gift from God. When I first got in contact with her one of the first things she said was “I have always loved you and you where the beginning of my healing process.” It is amazing as to how God can take something that is so horrible and traumatic and turn it around for his glory. It is as if God was saying ok yes you were done wrong to but I am going to give to you a little baby girl to help you heal.  It is amazing God can even use unborn children to help their mothers heal even before they are born. When I heard that I was the beginning of her healing process I thought God that is so amazing you used me even before I was born.

Had it been different for me my parents probably would not have had the baby girl that they prayed for. My older brother who also is adopted probably would not have a little sister, my grandparents would probably not have had a  precious grand-daughter, and my husband probably would still be single. And my church family probably would not have heard  a story about someone who could have been aborted, but was saved and placed for adoption.

I am so thankful for my birth mother who saw me as a gift and chose to share that gift with others. Life truly is a gift and a gift from God.

Speaking up

This weekend was a wonderful weekend. Spent time with my husband, taking a stand for the life of the unborn, and going to church.  On Saturday I was reading an article on Western Journalism’s Facebook page about a 12-year-old girl who was brutally raped and she chose to keep the baby. As I read through the comments some of the comments made me cry.

One of the comments someone said that she should have had an abortion because it would have prepared her for parenthood. This person also went on to say that abortion is not murder, but terminating the fetus. Well it got the best of me. My response was Abortion is murder it is taking a life. I then shared my story about how I found out I was conceived in rape. The person responded  back saying that terminating the fetus is not sin, just like being gay is not sin. My response again was Fetus in Latin means Little One so again Abortion is murder,  being gay is a sin and one day we all will stand before God.  After that I left the conversation went out to eat with my husband and grocery shopping. Came home checked the conversation again and was told to have fun washing myself in religious beliefs. Religion has nothing to do with it. It is about having a relationship with Jesus Christ. Someone told me that what I said was well said. Then I was called a brainwashed idiot.  Good thing I have learned not to take things personally. I actually laughed.

I shared the story with one of my Pastor’s sons and his response was Well, if you’re a brainwashed idiot then so am I. We both laughed.

I am thankful for the friends that God has given to me and the life that I live.

God at Work

Since I have been blogging my story it really inspires me when I see it starting to reach other countries. It is very biblical that we uphold the value of life. God is the creator of life and only he is the one that can take it away. It is very sad to read and see where this country the USA is going. The other day my righteous anger got the best of me. I read an article on lifenews.com and our president spoke to his pro-abortion supporters saying that they where doing gods work. Really? More like working for the god of this world. My God is a loving God and wants no one to perish. Before God spoke to me and told me that I needed to share it and tell it, I had planned just to let my pastor know and leave it there. But my God had other plans. He likes things to be his idea.

Last night at church I heard my Pastor preach a powerful message on Truth or Error. We need to be careful and live according to the Word of God. My God is at work. He is the creator, He does miracles, He changes lives, he sets the captives free, and so much more. He is an all ever loving Father. What we do for Christ is what will last.
