Incense

AARON-WITH-INCENSE-ALTAR

While trying to go to sleep tonight I said to my Husband I feel like writing. I want to write. I have many ideas on what to write but I need to write down the topics and do some research. Well as I was thinking I thought about Incense.

Incense according to Webster’s Dictionary is a material used to produce a fragrant odor when burned

Exodus 30:34  says God spoke to Moses: “Take fragrant spices—gum resin, onycha, galbanum—and add pure frankincense. Mix the spices in equal proportions to make an aromatic incense, the art of a perfumer, salted and pure—holy. Now crush some of it into powder and place some of it before The Testimony in the Tent of Meeting where I will meet with you; it will be for you the holiest of holy places. When you make this incense, you are not to copy the mixture for your own use. It’s holy to God; keep it that way. Whoever copies it for personal use will be excommunicated

As we look at this passage of scripture we see that God is having a conversation with Moses. The Lord is telling Moses how to make the incense with the ingredients listed, but he told Moses not to copy it for personal use. It is Holy to God, keep it that way.

I think about incense in our walk with God. In order for there to be a sweet smelling fragrance we need to have the Proper ingredients in our lives. The Proper ingredients are Daily Bible Reading, Prayer, Sometimes fasting, being around positive people, being accountable to another person.

We need to keep these ingredients because they are Pleasing to God we need to keep it that way.

We need to get rid of all the ungodly ingredients that are in our lives because they are not Holy to God and we need to be a sweet smelling fragrance to the Lord that is Holy to God.

Today’s Prayer: Lord Jesus please help us get rid of everything that is ungodly in our lives. We want to be a sweet smelling fragrance that is Holy and expectable to you.

Rejected But Accepted

Rejected

Based on Mark 12:1-8

As we read these verses, we read about Jesus telling the story about the man who planted a vineyard. We see where the man sent out his servants to collect the harvest, but the farmers killed the servants. So the man then sent out his son thinking to himself they won’t kill my son. Well, the farmers did kill his son. Let us take our focus to the part of verse 10. It says, “The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.”

As I sit here this morning, I being an adopted child have struggled with being an adopted child and have felt rejection so many times. About seven years ago I met my Birth mother for the first time, but before she accepted to have contact with me during the waiting time for me, it seemed like forever. Finally, the day came when the case worker called and said my birth mother was ok with having contact with me.

Adopted children struggle with the feelings of rejection. A minister came to our church one time, and he sat and talked with me and said I struggle with two things, and one of those things was the feelings of rejection.

Jesus had to feel rejected by the way that people treated him, but because he was God manifested in the flesh he accepted and loved the people that rejected him.

We are human, and we all probably have felt the feelings of rejection, but we have to realize that Jesus won’t reject us. He loves us. When we come to him we become part of his family he adopted us. He gave us his name. It’s just like when I was born my birth mother gave me a name, but when I was adopted my parents changed my name. When we become part of the family of God not only does he give us his name but we begin to change because he changes us.

So when you feel like people have rejected you, remember that Jesus has accepted you, and he loves and he wants to change you.

In My Garden

gardens (5)

Good Morning!! While just going through a page on facebook this morning I saw this picture and immediately the song In the Garden started to go through my mind.  My mind kept going so here we go. I can picture a beautiful day perfect 70 degree weather. Hearing the sound of the ocean waves in the background and also seeing a garden just beautiful with roses, lilies, tulips, Ivy, Evergreens, lilacs.  Imagine walking through that and its cool and also the smell of recently cut grass and you just keep walking. You just get a sense that someone is walking beside you then you realize that no one is around but you still feel as someone is there. Who is it? It’s Jesus. He wants to walk with you in his Garden, he wants to share with you things that he knows about with you. He wants to tell you his plan that he has for you.  He wants to love you and give you a hug because he sees the tears that are streaming down your face as you continue to walk. He wants to wrap you in his arms. There is so much that he wants to share.  Jesus wants to spend time with you. So you continue to walk and a lot of things just are going through your mind and then you realize that it’s getting late and you have not had lunch so you try to hurry along but something inside you says take your time and smell the roses. So you stop and smell the roses.  While looking at the roses you see how delicate and soft the petals are on the rose and the sweet smell that the roses leave. While smelling the roses Jesus still waits for you because he wants to continue to spend time with you. Then you see a shaded spot under the Willow tree near the exit of the garden and you can see the ocean beautifully. So you go and just relax under the willow tree still thinking about a lot of things. And he sits down with you and you just start to open up and talk to him. He knows.  Spend time in his garden.

As an Eagle Soars

isaiah_40_31_niv2

This title comes from the Sermon that was preached this morning in Church.  You will soar again.  I started to think about an Eagle and what it goes through when it learns to fly.

So I did some research this afternoon.

Baby eagles begin learning to fly–a process referred to as fledging– when they are only two to three months old though eagles who don’t share a nest with other litter mates can start learning earlier. Usually, this process takes a couple of months. During the learning process, many of the Eagles fall to the ground, and some are hurt and even die. Eagle parents will often continue to feed and care for baby eagles that have dropped to the ground until the babies learn. By four to six months, all young eagles should be flying unsupervised. While the Eagles will stay close to the nest while they are learning to fly, once they’ve mastered the process, they will travel far and wide, and most won’t remain near the area of their birth.

This was fascinating to me as it is with our walk with God. There may be times in our life where God is wanting us to go higher in him but we look out over the edge of where we are, and it looks so scary, but God will keep nudging us until we are pushed off the edge, and we have to have our wings and learn to fly and there are times where we will fall and get hurt, but we have people surrounding us that will help us get back on our feet. We will at times in our lives have to go through the same test over and over and over until we have mastered the process and once we have learned the process we can soar High, far and wide and not go back to that testing period again that we have passed.

Did you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks?

The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come. When the storm hits, the eagle sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring above it. The eagle does not escape the storm. It simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds that bring the storm.

We need to look at what an eagle does when a storm is coming. While the storms of life are raging around us we can soar above our storms, no we will not escape the storms, but we can use the winds to be lifted Higher and Higher. We need to look to Jesus so that he can set our wings so that the winds of the storm will lift us above the storm.Sherry1a

Dr. Ben Carson Opposes Abortions In Cases Of Rape And Incest

020813_han_doctor_640

Since I am someone who was conceived in rape, after last week’s offensive and nasty comments, that society now says about the rape conceived by referring the rape conceived to gerbils eating their young. I was very pleased this morning to read that Dr. Ben Carson is not for the exceptions and he is wanting to see abortion over ruled. This very welcoming news.

While on the subject of abortion with Chuck Todd, on Meet the Press Sunday, October 25th Dr. Ben Carson made reference to Abortion as to Slavery. I tend to agree with that. Slave Traders thought they could do whatever they wanted to do with the slaves. It is the same thing as abortion.  We also need to think about the Nazi’s. The Holocaust. That was a horrible time for the Jews. Living in the concentration camps and being killed by the hundreds.  Abortion is the Holocaust of our time and Roe v Wade became legal based on a lie. Abortion is nothing more than giving a woman the opportunity to do whatever she wants and allows people to force her into doing what she does not wish to do. Abortion is selfishness and is all in the name of convenience.

With Dr. Ben Carson having been a brain surgeon with Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD I have heard only good things about him. His movie “Gifted Hands” is a powerful movie. His mother, a single parent, taught him and his brother to work hard.

While awake in the very early morning hours I read one the greatest quotes from the article and I will remember that quote. The quote is  “And all you have to do is go and look at the many stories of people who have led very useful lives who were the result of rape or incest.” Dr. Ben Carson on Meet the Press 10/25/2015.

Having people like Dr. Ben Carson taking a stand in what he believes based on the Word of God is what America needs. America needs to turn back to God.

The Rape Conceived Are Now Referenced To Gerbils Eating Their Young

Waste2

This is probably going to be one of the hardest things I ever will write. It has been brought to my attention that there are comedians who will use rape as being funny. Rape is horrific and traumatic. It is not something that you joke about. Yesterday, while on Facebook an article in Newsweek showed up. I tried to read it, but could not finish it. The article is very disgusting and sickening. Pure Evil. The article quotes Adrienne Truscott, saying, “….eating an infant conceived by rape, the way gerbils sometimes consume their own babies.”

Talking with my husband late last night about the article, he told me put ten people in a row and let me guess which one was conceived in rape. I would not be able to tell, he said. He also told me that is discrimination.

I was conceived in rape, and I have a very hard time understanding as to why society treats us like trash being crushed in the garbage compactor. What makes us any different? It is all because of the reason of our conception.

I got to thinking about the rape conceived being referenced to gerbils eating their young. I did some research,  Why do Gerbils eat their young? “Gerbils eat their young when a baby gerbil has died, the mother gerbil will eat their young if she feels stressed, and gerbils will eat their young mainly when they feel that the babies are insecure.”

Just sickening having those conceived in rape being referenced to gerbils eating their young. When a woman is raped it would be natural for her to feel stressed but having an abortion will only add more stress. Support the mother and allow that precious baby that God is creating in the womb of the mother to bring healing to the mother.  Since I have been sharing my rape conception story I have come across others who were conceived in rape, and they have the backbone to stand up for the life of the pre-born babies, they are grateful for their life and thankful for their mothers choosing life. The rape conceived are not insecure people. We are people who are firm in what we believe, and that is taking a stand and speaking up for those who have no voice.

For This Cause I Was Born

image

John 18:37 “Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.”

Last night at church my husband testified about this very verse. On the way home I told him I could write on this. As I sit here at my desk in the den writing this, I would like to ask you some questions. Have you ever wondered why you were born? Why God breathed Life into you? Have you ever wondered what plans God has in store for your life?

I have thought about these questions over the years. The older that we get I believe that we think about these things more often. I have always wondered God what is your plan for my life. Well, the plan is unfolding. God’s plan for my life.

No Exceptions

The Value of One by Fred Hensley

The Value of Life

I thought I would share something my husband wrote last August.

Fred HensleyOne – unique, solitary, single, special, alone, no other one like you, you are special, you have fingerprints and DNA like no other one in the world. God says that we special. A little sparrow that falls is so insignificant that no one in the world will ever notice that the sparrow fell, but God took notice that it did. And Jesus says how much more valuable to God are we than that little sparrow. The religious leaders looked down on the widow woman for giving her two mites, equal to less than a penny in today’s world. Jesus notice that she gave all that she had and said that she had given more than all the others who had given much in the offering. Jesus said whosoever will let him come and drink of the water of life…

The Blessing Of Adoption

Bringing to the front.

The Value of Life

When the world tries to make adoption look like a bad thing I want to tell you that Adoption is a blessing. My Life has been blessed by adoption. I am the adoptee. To give you the short version of the story my birthmother was raped and her aunt wanted her to have an illegal abortion and could have arranged it. She told her aunt no and because of her circumstances she made the selfless decision and placed me for adoption. Even in the middle of adversity she saw me as a gift from God, and she felt blessed. She felt blessed back then because she knew that there where couples out there who could not have children. She felt blessed and shared that gift from God with a couple who could not have children.

Adoption is a very loving option. Adoption is not rejection, but it is giving the…
