Who Can Really Love The Reject

Orphans of God by Avalon

Who can really love the reject?

This afternoon I spent more time reading the book The Primal Wound: Understanding the Adopted Child”, by Nancy Verrier. While reading it the statement who can really love the reject was mentioned and it got my mind going in many different directions.

We have a problem in the world of adoption. The voices of the Birth mothers are heard, the voices of the adoptive parents are heard, but the voices of the adoptee tend to go by the wayside. Should their voices be heard as well? I think so. Because of the separation that takes place from the first mother adoptee’s deal with issues of rejection. I would be lying if I said that I didn’t deal with issues of rejection. I deal with issues of rejection. When things happen to relationships in my world that are hard for me to deal with I look at it as abandonment or rejection and people have to reassure me that they will always be there for me. Not that long ago I had to talk with my Pastor about some things and he told me, Sherry, you’re the one with the voice crying in the wilderness. That made me think.

I am adopted and I was also conceived from rape. Back when I was adopted so much information in the adoption records were fabricated because who really would want to adopt the rapist baby? I mean really who would want to raise the baby who would turn out to be like the rapist. I have news for people in society who think that babies conceived in rape turn out to be like the rapist you are so very wrong. I have yet to understand as to why when a woman is raped and conceives why all of a sudden she is treated like trash and she and her pre-born baby are looked at as rejects. What is wrong with people who automatically say she should have an abortion after rape. Having an abortion after rape only adds to the trauma that she is already going through. Instead of treating the woman and her baby like rejects why not love them and their pre-born baby.

I am thankful to live in a country where I have my freedoms, but those freedoms could be taken away so fast. It breaks my heart that we have many veterans who are homeless and they get treated like rejects as well. Why can’t we find it in our hearts take care of our veterans who fought for our freedoms? We live in a world where rejection is a big problem.

If we took the time to care about the reject this world would be a better place. Take time to love an adoptee who deals with issues of rejection, take time to love a woman who was raped and love her preborn baby don’t reject them, take time to love the homeless person on the street, take time to love the children who are in foster care, and the list of people who deal with rejection goes on.

Let’s look at Jesus. Jesus rejected no one, but yet he was rejected. Isaiah 53:3 says He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were [our] faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

If no one finds it in their heart to really care about the reject I know someone who really cares about the reject and his name is Jesus. Psalms 27:10 says When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.

Abortion Is Not An Act Of Self-Defense

According to Wikipedia, the definition for self-defense is a countermeasure that involves defending the well-being of oneself or of another from harm.

During the GOP Debate Saturday Night, Chris Christie Governor of New Jersey said that when a woman is raped, and she has an abortion, it is an act of self-defense. I disagree with what Chris Christie had to say. Having an abortion after rape is not an act of self-defense.

Chris Christie, I am an adult adoptee, and it was eight years ago that when I decided to search for my birthmother, that I found out I was conceived from rape. Yes, she was raped, but she used Self-Defense. She protected the well-being of another person from being harmed, the life of her baby. While she had the pressure of her aunt to abort me she did not give into the pressure and protected me from the most horrific harm that many preborn babies face abortion.

While I write this, I am using self-defense. I am using a voice that others don’t have and taking a stand to defend the lives of my peers who are in the womb. I am also taking a stand to let people know that those of us conceived from rape won’t tolerate being talked about negatively. If you are going to talk about those conceived from rape, talk about how much our lives matter, show us respect.

Chris Christie, why do you have to be so hard-hearted towards us? What if your mother was raped and aborted you? You would not be a governor, you would not be running for president, you would not have been able to do the things that you have done in your life to get to where you are today.

Chris Christie, while you degraded those conceived in rape at the GOP Debate, I have another question for you. What makes you so special that you were born?

I know why I am special because God created me in his image to bring healing to my birthmother, to fulfill God’s plan for my life, to be a gift to my parents. And most importantly I am so special to My Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ who loves me more than anyone and paid the price for my sins on the cross at Calvary.

Walk Toward The Baby And Away From Fear

The title of this blog came from something my birthmother said.

Can you imagine what Mary must have felt that day that the Angel appeared to her and told her that she would have a baby, and his name would be Jesus? I can imagine she was afraid. I know she was scared, she said how can this be I know not a man.

As I think about this, I think of all the women who were raped and conceived a baby. For Mary, it was a joyous occasion, but for these women it was not. When a woman becomes pregnant through rape she is afraid, she feels worthless, she was violated against, she has negative feelings about herself. When you meet her or are friends with her, please don’t tell her that the first thing she should do is have an abortion. Let her know that she is loved and that Jesus loves her, and She is made worthy through Jesus Christ. Show her Grace and Mercy. Don’t be judgemental.

Help her in any way that you can and help her see that the baby that is growing inside of her has a purpose, and the baby will help her heal. Pray with her and help her to walk towards the coming of that baby and help her to walk away from fear.

My birthmother was raped, and she stayed at a home for unwed mothers, and the people there showed her the Grace and Mercy of God. They helped her any way that they could, and they walked with her towards the birth of her baby and helped her walk away from fear.

As Mary walked away from fear towards the birth of her baby, imagine the people that talked about her, the people that turned their back on her. The day finally came where Joseph and Mary had to talk the long walk to Bethlehem.  Imagine the uncomfortable ride on the donkey to get to Bethlehem where our Saviour Jesus Christ the Messiah was born.

When God Cries

JESUSabortedbaby

My mind has been going in so many directions lately. I know that the Bible says that when we get to Heaven there will be no more crying over there.

But then I got to thinking about God. He sees all and I am sure that it breaks his heart every time that we do wrong. It breaks his heart when we choose to go our own way and not take the way that he chose for us.

God is the creator of life, and he is the only one that has the right to take it away. God created each and every one of us for a purpose. It is our responsibility to seek his face and let him lead and guide us into that purpose.

I want to touch on the subject of Abortion. I don’t understand why the life of the pre-born baby is not held at the highest level. We live in a selfish world where we think it’s all about us.

Not that long ago I heard about a woman that saw the ultrasound photo of her pre-born baby and she said that she found the peace that she needed and then had an abortion.

I believe God cries when he sees the very life that he is creating to be used for his purpose being murdered before they are born, being torn apart limb by limb before they are born, being burned alive through a saline abortion before they are born. I believe God cries when babies who are conceived out of rape/incest who are innocent pay for the crime they did not commit.

When are we as a nation going to understand that God cries when his creation is destroyed because of our selfishness? When are we going to turn back as a nation to what this country was founded upon and that is the Word of God?  When will we once again value the life of the pre-born baby?

Rejected But Accepted

Rejected

Based on Mark 12:1-8

As we read these verses, we read about Jesus telling the story about the man who planted a vineyard. We see where the man sent out his servants to collect the harvest, but the farmers killed the servants. So the man then sent out his son thinking to himself they won’t kill my son. Well, the farmers did kill his son. Let us take our focus to the part of verse 10. It says, “The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.”

As I sit here this morning, I being an adopted child have struggled with being an adopted child and have felt rejection so many times. About seven years ago I met my Birth mother for the first time, but before she accepted to have contact with me during the waiting time for me, it seemed like forever. Finally, the day came when the case worker called and said my birth mother was ok with having contact with me.

Adopted children struggle with the feelings of rejection. A minister came to our church one time, and he sat and talked with me and said I struggle with two things, and one of those things was the feelings of rejection.

Jesus had to feel rejected by the way that people treated him, but because he was God manifested in the flesh he accepted and loved the people that rejected him.

We are human, and we all probably have felt the feelings of rejection, but we have to realize that Jesus won’t reject us. He loves us. When we come to him we become part of his family he adopted us. He gave us his name. It’s just like when I was born my birth mother gave me a name, but when I was adopted my parents changed my name. When we become part of the family of God not only does he give us his name but we begin to change because he changes us.

So when you feel like people have rejected you, remember that Jesus has accepted you, and he loves and he wants to change you.

In My Garden

gardens (5)

Good Morning!! While just going through a page on facebook this morning I saw this picture and immediately the song In the Garden started to go through my mind.  My mind kept going so here we go. I can picture a beautiful day perfect 70 degree weather. Hearing the sound of the ocean waves in the background and also seeing a garden just beautiful with roses, lilies, tulips, Ivy, Evergreens, lilacs.  Imagine walking through that and its cool and also the smell of recently cut grass and you just keep walking. You just get a sense that someone is walking beside you then you realize that no one is around but you still feel as someone is there. Who is it? It’s Jesus. He wants to walk with you in his Garden, he wants to share with you things that he knows about with you. He wants to tell you his plan that he has for you.  He wants to love you and give you a hug because he sees the tears that are streaming down your face as you continue to walk. He wants to wrap you in his arms. There is so much that he wants to share.  Jesus wants to spend time with you. So you continue to walk and a lot of things just are going through your mind and then you realize that it’s getting late and you have not had lunch so you try to hurry along but something inside you says take your time and smell the roses. So you stop and smell the roses.  While looking at the roses you see how delicate and soft the petals are on the rose and the sweet smell that the roses leave. While smelling the roses Jesus still waits for you because he wants to continue to spend time with you. Then you see a shaded spot under the Willow tree near the exit of the garden and you can see the ocean beautifully. So you go and just relax under the willow tree still thinking about a lot of things. And he sits down with you and you just start to open up and talk to him. He knows.  Spend time in his garden.

Jesus Our Redeemer and Savior

turn-to-God

I am so blessed to have been raised in the home that I was raised in. Being adopted gave me the opportunity to know Jesus Christ in a powerful way. Jesus Christ the Creator of the world is also God who is our Redeemer and Savior.  It was in the middle of a Chapel Service at School that I received the gift of the Holy Ghost at the age of 7.  The spirit of God filled my life and life more abundantly. Lets look at scripture where God is our Redeemer and Savior and Jesus Christ is our Redeemer and Savior.

God our Redeemer and Savior

Psalms 78:34-35 ” When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and enquired early after God. 35 And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer.”

Isaiah 47:4 “ As for our redeemer, the Lord of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel.”

Isaiah 44:6 “Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.”

Isaiah 43:3-11 ” For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee. Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life. Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west; I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth; Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him. Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears. Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth. 10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. 11 I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour.”

Isaiah 45:21 ” Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I theLord? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.”

Isaiah 49:26 ” And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the Lord am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.”

Psalms 106:21 “They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;”

Luke 1:46-47 “And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, 47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.”

Jude-1-25-To-The-Only-Wise-God-Our-Saviour-yellow-copy

Jesus the Redeemer and Savior

I John 4:14 ” And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.”

I Peter 2:21-24 ” For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: 24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”

Acts 20:28 ” Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.”

Galatians 3:13 ”  Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:”

Luke 24:21-29 ” But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done. 22 Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre; 23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive. 24 And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not. 25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: 26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? 27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. 28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further. 29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.”

Luke 2:10-11 ” And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”

John 4:40-42 ” So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days. 41 And many more believed because of his own word; 42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.”

Philippians 3:20 ” For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:”

I Timothy 1:1-3 ” Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope; Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord. As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,”

I Timothy 4:10 ” For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.”

Titus 1:1-4 ” Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour; To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.

I Peter 1:10-11 ” Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: 11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.”

Jude 25 ” To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.”

God Our Creator

God large

Genesis 1:1 says, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”

Many Christians know that God created the heaven and the earth.  There are many that believe that Jesus pre-existed with the father so Jesus Christ created the heaven and earth. They are partly correct. Jesus is both God and man, but Jesus never existed until he was conceived in the womb of Mary and born.

I would like to take time and show many scriptures that show that God is the Creator and so is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh.

God Our Creator

Genesis 1:1 ” In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”

Genesis 2:7 ” And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

Job 33:4 ” The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.”

Psalms 33:6 ” By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.”

Psalms 104:30 ”  Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.”

Isaiah 40:28 ” Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, theLord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.”

Isaiah 44:24 “Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;”

Isaiah 45:11-18 ” Thus saith the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me. 12 I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded. 13 I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the Lord of hosts. 14 Thus saith the Lord, The labour of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall come after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee; and there is none else, there is no God. 15 Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour. 16 They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: they shall go to confusion together that are makers of idols. 17 But Israel shall be saved in the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end. 18 For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord; and there is none else.”

Malachi 2:10 ” Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?”

Jesus Our Creator

John 1:10 ” He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.”

I Corinthians 8:6 ” But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.”

Ephesians 3:9 ”  And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:”

Colossians 1:12-17 ” Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”

Hebrews 1:8-12″ But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. 10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: 11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; 12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.

Revelations 4:8-11 “ And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, LordGod Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, 10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”

Revelations 10:6 “And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:”

Revelations 14:6-7 ” And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.”

Revelations 21:5-7 “And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.”

Revelations 22:3 ” And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:”

Who Is Jesus Christ?

who-is-jesus

I have been in conversations with people on social media talking about Jesus Christ. There are many who believe that Jesus cannot be God. It is sad that so many people believe this. I am going to be doing several posts showing that Jesus is God. I will be using a lot of scripture because I want people to know that Jesus is God. Jesus is God manifested in the flesh. Jesus had a dual nature. He was God and he was man.  All Scripture is taken from the King James Version Bible

God is a Spirit

John 4:23,24  ” But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.  24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

Acts 7:48, 49  ” Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, 49 Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?”

Acts 17:24-28 ” God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; 25 Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; 26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; 27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: 28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.”

Psalms 139:11,12 ” If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. 12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.”

I Kings 8:27 ” But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?”

Jeremiah 23:21-27 ” I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. 22 But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings. 23 Am I a God at hand, saith the Lord, and not a God afar off? 24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord25 I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed. 26 How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart; 27 Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.”

There is One God

Deuteronomy 6:4-9 ” Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one LordAnd thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

Mark 12:28-34 ” And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. 32 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he: 33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. 34 And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.”

Malachi 2:10 ”  Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?”

Isaiah 44:6-8 ” Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them. Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.”

Isaiah 45:2-6, 23 ”  I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron: And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the Lord, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel. For Jacob my servant’s sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me. I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is none else.  23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.”

Isaiah 46:8-9 ” Remember this, and shew yourselves men: bring it again to mind, O ye transgressors. Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,”

I Corinthians 8:4-6 “As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one. For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.”

Ephesians 4:5-6 ” One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”

I Timothy 2:5 ” For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;”

James 2:19 ”  Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.”

Revelations 4:2-3 ” And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.”

As we can start to see the same God of the Old Testament is also the Same God in the New Testament. What I also find interesting that people like to talk about Jesus sitting on the right hand of the Father. The is only one Throne in Heaven. And Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior our King of Kings sits on the Throne.Jesus is God

Isaiah 7:14 ” Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”

John 1:1, 1:14 ” In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

John 14:6-11 ” Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father? 10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.

II Corinthians 5:19 “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”

I Timothy 3:16 ” And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”

That I May Know Him

That-I-may-know-him

Think about this question. How well do you know your parents? How well do you know your brother or sister? How well do you know your boyfriend/girlfriend? How well do you know your spouse?

My husband and I have been married for 13 years, and there are times where we just know what each other is thinking. Was it like that in the beginning? No. It happened over spending a lot of time with each other. When you spend a lot of time with someone, you really get to know them.

Trying to figure out what to write about today was a challenge. I had to keep thinking and reading scriptures until something stuck with me. Well, then the thought came to my mind “That I may know Him.”

Philippians 3:10

“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;”

This verse has got so much in a few short words. How well do you know him or how well do you want to know him?

We can know him on a very personal and intimate level. Let’s take a look at this verse.

God is all powerful. Yes, Jesus died but he rose again. When we fall or stumble let’s not stay down but call on his name, and he will help us get back up.

Jesus had suffered greatly in the garden before he was betrayed. His flesh did not want to go through with it, but he prayed not my will but yours Lord.  Personally I think he is the one that went through more suffering than anyone of us has ever gone through. Yes, we have situations that we face every day and sometimes they are not fun and seem to go on forever. Instead of getting the attitude why am I going through this or that let’s look at what Jesus went through and Thank him and Praise and Worship him in the middle of our situations.

Conformable means to be submissive or patient. We need to wait on him while we go through life. When everything is going well, we need to trust God, and when everything is going bad, we need to trust God and wait on him.

The more time we spend with him, the more we will know him and we will be able to Praise, Worship him in the middle of our situations and be willing to be patient and submissive in the middle of it all and watch how it all works out.
