Why We Need To Make Abortion Illegal

illegal350

Last night a friend and I had the opportunity to go to Waldorf, Maryland and sit in on the Charles County Right to Life meeting. We got some ideas as to how we can make the Greater Baltimore Right to Life a successful group.

One of the things that we plan to do is have conference calls to give people things to say when they are at the booth, and they get some tough questions asked.

Just recently I was told that I was wrong that we vote for a President, who is pro-life this election. I was told that it’s the women’s choice, and the government needs to stay out of it. I responded back to this person with an outstanding response. I said, In 1966, Mississippi legalized abortions only in cases of Rape/Incest. I said the state government authorized it, and that is the government. I also brought up the Supreme Court in 1973 when abortion became legalized in the United States. I said the Supreme Court is the government.

The reasons why abortion should be illegal.

The First and Foremost Reason abortion is murder, and The Bible says, Though shalt not kill. It is part of the ten commandments. Life is precious we are created in the image of God. We are so special to God that he knew us before we were even formed in the womb. Just recently I read a devotional on fathersloveletter.com, and I would like to share it

Jeremiah 1:4-5
4 The word of the LORD came to me, saying,
5 Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart;
(NIV Bible)

When Jeremiah was called to be a prophet to Israel, God declared that even before he was conceived, he was known by God and set apart for His divine purposes. The road that Jeremiah would walk in his ministry life would not be an easy one, for he suffered much abuse at the hands of his fellow Israelites. I wonder if he ever reflected on these words when he was going through his darkest times? When he was alone in that cold, damp prison cell, did he ever go back to the beginning of his ministry and meditate on God’s words to him? I believe the revelation that he was known by God, and set apart for His purposes, gave Jeremiah the strength to continue to walk out his destiny, even in the darkest of times.

Knowing that it was God who knew us, and formed us, and called us into life, is the bedrock of our existence. When everything else around us is not making sense, this truth can give us the grounding that we desperately need to go on. We are all looking for a sense of meaning and purpose in our lives. Many people have not received this affirmation from their parents, but it was not their parents who knew them before they were conceived, but God. It was God who formed each one of us in our mother’s womb and called us to life. It was God who set us apart for His divine purposes and plans.

Before an architect constructs a building, he meticulously puts every detail on paper, every component needed to make his dream into a reality. The idea is first conceived in his mind, then is transferred on paper, and then when everything is just perfect, he starts the process of building his creation. In my own limited understanding of God’s creation process, this is how I imagine it to be. He first conceived us in His mind, and with great thoughts of love, He began to chart every detail of our DNA in preparation for the time when he would form us in our mother’s womb. What a wonderful thought, to know that the God of the universe knew us intimately and set us apart for His purposes even before we were conceived!

The second reason abortion should be illegal is because in the Declaration of Independence says that we have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We all have the right to life. We are given that right the moment we are conceived.

The Third reason abortion should be illegal is because many people say that the government should not be involved. The government is the reason abortion is legal. When we have abortion illegal only then will the government be out of it.

An Esther Moment…For Such a time as this

Moment Created

Good Morning Everyone!!

I am so overwhelmed by the Goodness of God. Yesterday I had a meeting with the Executive Director of the Maryland Right to Life. I am also now the President of the Greater Baltimore Right to Life. God placed me in this position. I never asked for it. The Baltimore Right to Life came to me and asked me if I would be willing to do it. This is a door that God opened. I will be attending the State Right to Life Board Meetings, and I will be helping out with the Maryland Right to Life Banquet that they have every year.

When I shared this with my mom, last night she mentioned that she is going to pray that God gives me wisdom, anointing, and his protection. She also said the words “For such a time as this..”

This morning I received a devotional from Neil Vermillion, and this is devotional. It is so profound with the meeting that I had yesterday.

As you step forward in faith, moving toward what I have set before your eyes, you will see circumstances begin to shift. For this is a time for you to advance, a time to progress, a time to engage and initiate. It is a time to take action and begin to pursue goals and implement plans. There will still be a process involved, there will still be work and labor involved, but now is the time to take action and move towards things with eager anticipation.

For there are days of preparation and there are days of planning, but the days of accomplishment and manifestation are upon you, even this day. So do not continue to wait as you plan, but rather plan as you are moving. Do not wait for the “right moment” for the right moment is upon you even now. Take action and move forward in faith though you do not have all the pieces to the puzzle. For in your obedience, and faith, you will see my plans continue to unfold before your eyes in ways that will surprise you.

As you put yourself into motion you will find the missing answers and missing pieces, so do not allow their absence to be a hindrance or delay for you.

Move forward, taking action toward all I have already placed within you. For this is not a time to conceive new plans, to create new ideas, or devise new schemes. But this is the day to launch forward with what’s already been given you. This is the day to step out and move closer to the completion of what has been revealed to you already. So seek no new plans, but move forward with what you’ve been given, trusting, knowing, and believing what you have will be sufficient.

It will not be sufficient for you to finish, but it will be sufficient for you to begin. So look to the tools in your hands and know you’ve been given enough to get you started. And though you need more, more will be given you when you need it as you move forward in faith and trust.

So jump! Today is the day to jump and move and begin. Do not delay. Do not hesitate. Simply move upon all that’s been shown to you already. Take action, for the day of my favor is surely upon you.

Rejected But Accepted

Rejected

Based on Mark 12:1-8

As we read these verses, we read about Jesus telling the story about the man who planted a vineyard. We see where the man sent out his servants to collect the harvest, but the farmers killed the servants. So the man then sent out his son thinking to himself they won’t kill my son. Well, the farmers did kill his son. Let us take our focus to the part of verse 10. It says, “The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.”

As I sit here this morning, I being an adopted child have struggled with being an adopted child and have felt rejection so many times. About seven years ago I met my Birth mother for the first time, but before she accepted to have contact with me during the waiting time for me, it seemed like forever. Finally, the day came when the case worker called and said my birth mother was ok with having contact with me.

Adopted children struggle with the feelings of rejection. A minister came to our church one time, and he sat and talked with me and said I struggle with two things, and one of those things was the feelings of rejection.

Jesus had to feel rejected by the way that people treated him, but because he was God manifested in the flesh he accepted and loved the people that rejected him.

We are human, and we all probably have felt the feelings of rejection, but we have to realize that Jesus won’t reject us. He loves us. When we come to him we become part of his family he adopted us. He gave us his name. It’s just like when I was born my birth mother gave me a name, but when I was adopted my parents changed my name. When we become part of the family of God not only does he give us his name but we begin to change because he changes us.

So when you feel like people have rejected you, remember that Jesus has accepted you, and he loves and he wants to change you.

As an Eagle Soars

isaiah_40_31_niv2

This title comes from the Sermon that was preached this morning in Church.  You will soar again.  I started to think about an Eagle and what it goes through when it learns to fly.

So I did some research this afternoon.

Baby eagles begin learning to fly–a process referred to as fledging– when they are only two to three months old though eagles who don’t share a nest with other litter mates can start learning earlier. Usually, this process takes a couple of months. During the learning process, many of the Eagles fall to the ground, and some are hurt and even die. Eagle parents will often continue to feed and care for baby eagles that have dropped to the ground until the babies learn. By four to six months, all young eagles should be flying unsupervised. While the Eagles will stay close to the nest while they are learning to fly, once they’ve mastered the process, they will travel far and wide, and most won’t remain near the area of their birth.

This was fascinating to me as it is with our walk with God. There may be times in our life where God is wanting us to go higher in him but we look out over the edge of where we are, and it looks so scary, but God will keep nudging us until we are pushed off the edge, and we have to have our wings and learn to fly and there are times where we will fall and get hurt, but we have people surrounding us that will help us get back on our feet. We will at times in our lives have to go through the same test over and over and over until we have mastered the process and once we have learned the process we can soar High, far and wide and not go back to that testing period again that we have passed.

Did you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks?

The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come. When the storm hits, the eagle sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring above it. The eagle does not escape the storm. It simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds that bring the storm.

We need to look at what an eagle does when a storm is coming. While the storms of life are raging around us we can soar above our storms, no we will not escape the storms, but we can use the winds to be lifted Higher and Higher. We need to look to Jesus so that he can set our wings so that the winds of the storm will lift us above the storm.Sherry1a

Are You Ready For Your Miracle?

Miracle

John 11 Now a man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. 2 (This Mary, whose brother Lazarus now lay sick, was the same one who poured perfume on the Lord and wiped his feet with her hair.) 3 So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one you love is sick.” 4 When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.

The Bible says we don’t have because we don’t ask. We have to come to him and ask and believe that he will do what we asked because he can do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask.

Will the answer always be the one we want? Lazarus was sick and was very close to Jesus. I wonder if Mary and Martha felt that Jesus is on his way Lazarus will get better. But Jesus didn’t show up, and Lazarus died.

What now. Their brother was gone. Their hearts were broken. Sometimes while we wait on God to answer our prayers, it can difficult, frustrating and we can even say where are you, Jesus. We have got to keep walking this walk.

Yes, it may look like what you asked God about is dead what we don’t know is that God is working on it.

Finally, after Lazarus had been dead for a couple of days, Jesus finally shows up. Well to Mary and Martha they knew their brother would rise again they didn’t know what was about to happen. That is the same way with us the situation may look like nothing is getting done, and all of hell has come against us things just get worse and worse instead of better. When all of hell is coming against us, we need to rejoice and keep pressing forward. Just when you think that the prayer will not get answered, and doubt tries to set in and all kinds of things Jesus will show up. He has to show up. He said he would never leave us or forsake us.

Was Mary and Martha prepared for what was about to happen?  I don’t think so. When Jesus stepped on the scene, everything else went a whole different direction.

Are you ready for your Miracle? It may not come the way you wanted or the timeframe you wanted.  What you asked God for and felt like it had died get ready for your miracle because when Jesus steps into the situation everything else changes.

Mercy Endures

One Sunday Evening my husband and I had the privilege to attend my Sister in law’s church and the Pastor was preaching from Psalms 107 and the title of his sermon was “Oh that men would Praise Him.”

The very 1st verse stuck with me. Psalms 107:1

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.

Let’s take a look at this verse.

We are to give thanks to God at all times for He is good. God is so good. We are to be thankful in the Good times and the bad as well because he is God and he is good.

This is the part that I like. What does Mercy mean? Mercy means to have a Compassion Treatment.  When I think of Endures, I believe of keeping going, lasting, being patient, being persistent, staying the course.

Let’s take that verse and word it different ways.

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. For his Compassion keeps going forever.

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For his Compassion is patient forever.

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For his Compassion lasts forever.

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For his Compassion is persistent forever.

Think about that today. What a great God that does not give up on his Children and that his Compassion keeps going, is patient, persistent, lasts forever.

Today’s Prayer: Lord Jesus we thank you that your mercy lasts forever and that you have not given up on us. We stumble and fall but your great compassion that you have is so patient, and you pick us up when we fall. We thank you!

I Have Come To The Kingdom For Such A Time A This

such-a-time-as-this

Waking up early this morning I was thinking about the last two or three weeks and twice at church I have heard parts of the story of Esther two times. The Book of Esther is one of my favorite books in the Bible.

A couple of years ago on a Monday Morning something had happened, and I could have gotten mad and upset, but instead I asked God what did he want me to do. He said I don’t want you to do anything I want you to pray. So I went into prayer and that Monday night my husband and I talked about the Sunday service. As we talked about it the atmosphere in our home changed. We had sensed an urgency about an individual and their family. So for two nights my husband and I prayed. On Tuesday night, my husband started to feel at peace about whatever was going on. I though being the intercessor that I am God gave to me a strong burden for this person. That whole week I could not eat or hardly even drink I was in very intense prayer. On Saturday Morning at the Intercessory prayer meeting at the church we prayed and the person was there. At the end of the prayer service, we asked for this person and his family to come up for prayer. We prayed with them. The next day my husband and I were at the church early and I was down in one of the Sunday School rooms and the person came to me and gave to me the whole smorgasbord as to what was going on. I was amazed as to what God had done. Although I will say I felt inadequate and what God told me was “Don’t feel inadequate or unworthy, but feel honored because I have chosen you for such a time as this.”

As I think about the prophetic word that I was given at the age of 17 and last August God spoke to me at church at the beginning of the ministers sermon, that I need to share my story and tell it. I thought that God wanted me just to share it with my local church family. I did that, but God has had other plans. After I shared my story with my church family, one of the Pastors sons came to me and said we need to redo your testimony, and I said can we video tape it. He said sure. We did, and we had to do it a couple of times.

In February of this year, I decided to start this blog, and I  am thankful for the people who follow me on my blog.  With my blog, Facebook, and other websites my story has been seen all over the world.  God is not finished though. Very soon the story is going to be translated into Spanish. I never dreamed that it would happen. God is truly doing amazing things. There are other things that are going on, and it is going to take its time for it to come to fulfillment.  I have had several people tell me that the time for God to use me is now. I know it because I can feel it burning inside of me. It is in the plan of God that I am being used for such a time as this.

The sacredness of life

life_is_sacred_std_t-copyLife is sacred. God chose mankind to have fellowship with him.  We were created by God to worship him, and he wants to use us for his kingdom. Life is sacred it must be highly valued and important.  We live in a world where animals have more protection than humans. The life of the unborn is being taken for granted these days.

Yesterday, we celebrated Memorial Day here in the United States of America. A day to remember those who served our country and are serving our country. I can imagine when people sign up to be in the military whether it is the Army, Navy, Armed Forces, National Guard, Air Force they take it sacred. It is something that they are devoted to. They see the sacredness of serving their country. They have great respect for the military. They take their job very seriously.
Yesterday, I read an article where my friend, Rebecca Kiessling, who also was conceived in rape, had to tell someone why her life was worth living.  People who are conceived because of rape should not have to tell why their lives are worth living. Life should be highly valued, respected no matter the circumstances of conception.
I am thankful that I have a God, who’s name, is Jesus Christ he knew me even before I was conceived. He saw how valuable and important my life is that he died on the cross and rose again so that I can be saved. He died for us so that we can live for him. We must respect and see life as being highly valued, important and worship the one who created and saw the sacredness of life before we were even born.

God’s Plan For The Family

Mark10_6-9

Genesis 1:26-27 says  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Not that long ago The United States Supreme Court heard arguments that Marriage needs to be changed. The United States Supreme Court will make that ruling probably sometime in late June or early July. When God made man and woman, he told them to replenish the earth.

There are four verses in the Bible where God says for a Man to leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife. Genesis 2:24 says Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Matthew 19:5 says And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

Mark 10:7 says For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;

Ephesians 5:31 says For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

God set it up this way. Children need both a Father and a Mother.

It is sad that we live in a generation where wrong is right and right is wrong. The Founding Fathers of the United States of America founded the country on the word of God. They had prayed before they began their work day and before each session.  I pray that the Supreme Court will recognize marriage between a man and a woman.

I know when the Supreme Court was making the decision about abortion to many Christians sat ideally by and said it won’t become legal. What happened there? Abortion became legal, and about 58 million babies have been aborted and many more babies were not able to be conceived because of the 58 million that have been aborted.  I wonder how many people today know that abortion became legal because a woman lied and said she was raped.

Here we are again this week Congress is getting ready to vote on a 20-week pain capable bill to make abortions after 20 weeks illegal except in cases of rape/incest and special needs. Why do we continue to make exceptions? Why do we continue to allow the innocent pay for the crime that the birth father committed?  Oh, because what is wrong is now right, and what is right is now wrong.  We as Christians need to have a backbone and take a stand and not just think that well they won’t pass these types of bills. It happened in 1973 and if we don’t stand up and face some persecution things will continue to get worse and worse.  A lot of problems in today’s world is a Spiritual Problem. When we take a stand for Biblical principles and people, say they were offended, they are not offended, but they are convicted, and they don’t want to change.

If the United States Supreme Court decides to change the recognition of marriage, don’t be surprised.

I am thankful that I was raised in a Christian home with a Mother and Father, who taught me right from wrong.

The Refuge

Psalms 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Saturday Night I was thinking and I asked my husband what he thinks about when he thinks about a refuge. He said safety, protection. It took me almost 7 years to realize how awesome the word Refuge is in my life. A lot of you know that I was conceived in rape and my birth mother kept me safe and protected me from an illegal abortion.

When my parents, my husband and I met my birth mother we went to eat at a restaurant called The Refuge. It really is Amazing. She kept me safe and it was 35 years after I was born that I met her and we ate at the Refuge. It really made that reunion all the more special and meaningful.
